- ½ cucumber
- ½ jicama
- 1 mango
- 1 cup tamarind candies
- 1 cup Japanese-style peanuts
- 1 lime
- 2-3 tablespoon Tajin
- 2-3 tablespoon chamoy
- 2-3 tablespoon Valentina hot sauce
- 2 7 oz bags of Tostitos
Nothing goes better together than a plate (or bag) of Tostilocos and an ice-cold cerveza.
It's best to serve this dish soon after making it or the chips will become soft and mushy (although, it's still delicious either way).

- For the toppings, Cucumber, jicama, and mango should all be peeled and cubed. Remove and open the remaining toppings.
- Set aside, that for the toppings
- For servings: Cut a bag of Tostitos length wise at the top. Leave the chips inside.
- Or, Spread the Tostitos chips on large serving platter, tray or baking dish.
- Layer cucumber, jicama, mango, and your preferred toppings on top.
- If using, sprinkle with Japanese peanuts, rielito (tamarind candy), and churritos.
- Chamoy, Valentina hot sauce, and lime juice drizzled on top.
- Concisely, spread the chips out in an even layer on a plate, platter, or casserole dish. Layer the diced cucumber, jicama, mango, tamarind candies, and peanuts. Top with chile-lime seasoning (or Tajin), chamoy, and Valentina hot sauce. Serve with lime wedges on the side.
Tostilocos is generally a "no rules" type of dish, so the ingredients may vary depending on personal taste. Besides the ingredients mentioned above, some vendors also use nacho cheese, shredded cheese, sliced pickled jalapeños, and chopped mango bits.
The base chips can be any flavor of tortilla chips. Tostitos brand tortilla chips are the most commonly used (hence the name), but any brand of tortilla chips works equally well. Some vendors also use different kinds of chips, such as Fritos corn chips, Doritos (called "Dorilocos"), or hot Cheetos.
